Marbella FC's Under-19 A team secured promotion to the top tier of youth football in Spain today. Francisco José Gallego's side lived up to expectations, convincingly defeating Rusadir CF to achieve their third promotion to the División de Honor.

In a Luis Teruel stadium decorated for the occasion with numerous fans ready to cheer on the home team, the Marbella team dominated the match at all times, knowing that they could not afford any doubts against a rival that had been relegated months ago.

The game started with a shot off the post by the home team and a goal by Vasile in the 3rd minute. At 22 minutes the home team was leading 4-0 and in the final minutes of the first half, two more goals from Iván González and Vasile made it 6-0 and secured promotion.

Many changes at halftime, and again absolute dominance by Marbella who scored three more goals in the second half to close out a historic 9-0 rout to celebrate promotion to the División de Honor at home.

There was no need to even look at the match between Mijas Las Lagunas and La Cañada Atlético B, as the tie on points benefited Marbella. Furthermore, the Mijas team ended up losing that match, which, along with other results, allowed Marbella FC to finish as runners-up in Group 13 of the National Youth League.
