Marbella FC achieved a great victory tonight at Bergantiños to advance to the first round of the Copa del Rey.
Fran Beltrán's team came out with some of their less common players, but they showed that they have a lot to contribute to a team that is on a roll and does not want to give up anything.
At the start of the match, it was the home team that most sought the opposing goal with several long-range shots to which Alberto Lejárraga responded successfully.
While the local attackers did not make a difference, the Marbella striker did. Dorian received a good pass from Ernest to make it 0-1 in the 16th minute. It was the first goal for the Equatorial Guinean striker and he celebrated it as he deserved.
The goal further solidified the game for Marbella, who were able to take control of the game and play their best minutes against Bergantiños, who were suffering from the goal they had conceded.
Minutes later, Dorian managed to score again, after taking advantage of an error by the rival, to make it 0-2 and put the team on track to advance to the next round of the cup. With no more goals, the match went into the break.
In the second half, the home team went all out in search of a goal that would put them in the game, but both Lejárraga and the Marbella defence managed to put an end to all of the home team's attacks.
Beltrán began to move the bench to give his players a rest, some of whom were very tired physically. The match was complicated by a defensive error that led to the 1-2.
But if there is one thing that characterises this Marbella team, it is their ability to know how to suffer and, faced with the pressure of Bergantiños, Marbella shone with excellent defensive work to certify their victory and their passage to the second round of the Copa del Rey.
